England batsmen have gotten used to Pak spinners: Misbah
Pakistan cricket team captain Misbah-ul-haq on Sunday said that England batsmen had gotten used to spinners and that was why they were improving day-by-day. England has taken an unassailable 3-0 lead against Pakistan in the four-match ODI series. The fourth and final match of the series will take place at DSC on Tuesday followed by a three-match Twenty20 International series, according to a message received here from Dubai. “They’ve kept playing the spinners and they’re (getting) used to that and that’s why they are improving day by day. The way they’re getting runs, they are getting more confident and the main thing for batsmen is confidence,†Misbah said.
Meanwhile, England captain Alastair Cook said it was a really satisfying victory for them. “It doesn’t mean we have learnt all our lessons but we have certainly made a step forward in playing in these conditions.â€
Cook said, “We want Kevin Pietersen to open as we have seen his power and the destructiveness he can cause in the power-play. He’s got a strike-rate of about 85 in one-dayers so he’s always going to score quickly.â€
Cook said, “We’ve talked about the disappointments of the Test series against Pakistan and we don’t need to keep going over that but we’ve shown a lot of character to turn that around.â€
“In this one-day series we could have felt down on ourselves but the lads have shown tremendous character in picking themselves up and fronting up to the challenge and, from one to eleven, all have played crucial parts in our wins,†he added.
