Gold surged by Rs 254 to close at Rs 50,914 per 10 grams in the local market Friday as its international price increased to $ 1,760 an ounce, market sources said.

According to Karachi Saraf Association official, tola (11.664 grams) price also jumped by Rs 300 to close at Rs 59,400.

Silver closed higher at Rs 942.85 per 10 grams.
