Govt played difficult innings like Miandad in four years: Gilani

Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani here on Wednesday said the government played its four years long innings like cricket star Javed Miandad, in a very difficult situation. Talking to prominent sportsmen , he said, “We are bearing all of the attacks coming from left, right and centre.”
The Prime Minister congratulated Information Minister Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan and her whole team over the starting of the new sports channel.
He said the channel will attract youth towards sports and will encourage them to participate in competitions.
He said he liked Imran Khan as a sportsman but not as a politician and Inzamamul Haq and Shahid Afridi are also his favourites.
The Prime Minister said Indian Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh invited him some time back to visit Mohali to watch a cricket match between India and Pakistan.
“We lost the match but people were very enthusiastic and public opinion was extremely favourable for us. All our way people were very welcoming,” he added.
The Prime Minister said, “In politics, we have to show magnanimity. In case of win or defeat we have to see things with sagacity and not personally.”
