SC did not accord special protocol to Nawaz

The Supreme Court has not accorded any protocol or special favour to Pakistan Muslim League-N leaders for entering its premises or the Court Room No.1 where hearing of the Memogate issue was conducted by a nine-member larger bench on Thursday.

A press release issued by the Registrar office on Friday said "It is clarified that as per usual practice, all the litigants including the leaders of PML-N entered the Court building through the public reception gate and after security clearance, were given visitors' cards to enter the Court Room."

The security personnel as well as Court officials on duty were trained and instructed to treat litigant parties and advocates with dignity and respect without any distinction or discrimination whatsoever. It further said "A careful review of CCTV cameras footage installed in the Supreme Court building also revealed that no armed private guards accompanied the PML-N leaders in the Court, as wrongly alleged."

Referring to a press conference appeared in a section of press, the Registrarb office hoped that the baseless allegations will be avoided in future and the dignity and respect of the apex Court will be maintained.
