ANP demands judicial probe on receiving foreign aid

The Awami National Party Saturday demanded constitution of a judicial committee to probe as to which political party and organization was receiving foreign aid.

ANP Information Secretary Senator Zahid Khan talking to journalist outside Parliament House rejected all the allegations against ANP leveled by MQM chief Altaf Hussain in his video press conference on Friday.

"It would be better for the country if a judicial committee is formed for an inquiry on which political parties are running on foreign aid", he added. He said it was ridiculous that he was accusing ANP of receiving million of dollars from the United States without any evidence.

ANP leader said his party did not need a certificate of patriotism from Altaf Hussain or anyone else. "if anyone had any allegations against the ANP they should come to the courts", he said. Responding to Altaf Hussain's statement on "foreign powers" working against Pakistan, Zahid Khan said that the MQM leader was a national of one of the powers he had mentioned.

He called upon MQM chief to withdraw his British nationality if there was such a conspiracy. On the map shown by the MQM chief during the press conference, the ANP leader said the map had already been printed by the media in 1998.

He said during the entire press conference Altaf Hussain appeared nervous and talked about irrevlavant things. "His senseless talking and body gestures shows MQM is afraid of suo moto action and ongoing operation in Karachi," he said.
