Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan dissolved all the PAC’s special committees and sub-committees, criticizing the appointment of Akhter Buland Rana as the auditor general of Pakistan.

The committee chairman said that the government cannot use the PAC for its interests.

Moreover, Mr Khan said that the government had given the position of auditor general of Pakistan to a controversial figure, which clearly shows the government intention to make PAC inactive.

Nisar also said that the accounts of the present government are presented under PAC for the first time and the appointment of the auditor general was an attempt to impede the functioning of the committee.

Later, The notification of the dissolution was issued.
