Aamir to make cuss-free ‘Delhi Belly’ for small screen!
After raking huge moolah at Box Office, Aamir Khan’s adult comedy is all set to make its debut on small screen but not before tweaking its latest youth anthem ‘Bhaag DK Bose.’
Apparently, ‘Delhi Belly’ will be mellowed down to suit the national television. Talking to a daily, director Abhinay Deo said, “Besides redubbing a lot of parts, we are also rewriting certain sequences and jokes from the original. There’s a considerable amount of work. It feels like I’m making it all over again.â€
It is believed that Aamir has instructed Abhinay to rework ‘Delhi Belly’ and cut down its brazen and irreverent avatar sans any abuses, even as it will retain its funniness.
When enquired, Aamir confirmed the news and said, “Akshat (Verma) and Abhinay have rewritten the dialogues of ‘Delhi Belly’s’ fresh version and the humour is working extremely well. I’m sure it will bring in the new audiences for the film.â€
Meanwhile, Abhinay is visibly excited about ‘Delhi Belly’s’ TV debut as he said, “It will have its own charm. Even if we are changing the jokes, new jokes will have their own appeal and standing. And I’m sure the difference – for those who have seen the original – will be welcomed.â€
Amusingly, Imran Khan, Kunal Roy Kapoor and Vir Das use colourful language in ‘Delhi Belly’ and have to re-dub their parts.
“A lot of work is still left. But I think we should be ready by mid-next month,†added Abhinay.
