Aitzaz ‘says No’ to represent Altaf Hussain in Contempt case
KARACHI: Barrister Aitzaz Ahsan said No to represent Muttahida Qaumi Movement’s chief Altaf Hussain in the contempt of Court case, Wednesday.
Sources said that, Ahsan excused himself due to the fact that Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry was on the bench hearing the case.
"One of the party's MPA contacted me for the case representation but I am unable to appear before Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry since the last case of prime Minister Gilani".
Moreover, Ahsan advised CJ not to cancel his trip to Karachi over security reasons, it may give the MQM chief the justification to not to come to Pakistan.
MQM chief Altaf Hussain was given a contempt of court notice and summoned on January 7 over a defamatory speech against the law and order case of Karachi.
