Vivek Oberoi to replace Sanjay Dutt in Mahesh Bhatt’s next

As they say somebody’s loss is somebody else’s gain, Vivek Oberoi has gained a Mahesh Bhatt film, thanks to Sanjay Dutt. The ‘Munnabhai’ star, who had initially been approached to play the lead, has now withdrawn from the project citing date issues. And this move of the actor has come as a surprise to all those who swear by Dutt’s and Mahesh’s friendship since the ‘Sadak’ days.

Confirming this news to a tabloid, director Mahesh Bhatt said, “Vivek has met up with Mukesh and Kunal. He has been narrated the script. However, all of us have to mutually agree. Till then, it will be premature to say that Vivek is on-board. In our business, there is much between a cup and the lip. This has happened to us Sanjay Dutt didn’t work out. But yes, Vivek had expressed his desire to be a part of the film and we would be happy to have him on-board.”

Interestingly, junior Oberoi does not share a healthy relationship with Sanju Baba. Reportedly, Oberoi had made lewd remarks about Dutt’s wife when he was shooting for action film ‘Shootout at Lokhandwala’.
