A policeman was killed and three others injured when a police vehicle was targeted with a roadside bomb in Peshawar on Sunday.

The improvised explosive device went off in Sarband area when the police van was passing by, officials said, adding the vehicle was severely damaged in the attack.

The blast left a policeman dead and three others injured. The injured policemen were rushed to a nearby hospital.

Security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation.

No group claimed responsibility for the blast.
