Haji Mastan son seeks stay on Once Upon a Time in Mumbaai
Hussain Sharaif, son of alleged former smuggler Haji Mastan, moved an Indian city civil court seeking a stay on release of forthcoming film Once upon a time in Mumbaai inspired by the life of Mastan.
The film is slated for release this month end, the plaintiff contended in the suit against the producers and claimed that it wrongly projected his father as the "Don".
"Haji Mastan cannot be linked to the fugitive Don Dawood Ibrahim. Mastan was highly respected in the society and he had even floated a political party "Bhartiya Minorities Suraksha Mahasangh" for the welfare of Muslim community", the plaintiff contended.
The matter would be heard by a civil court in due course.
