The Supreme Court of Pakistan upholding verdict of the Lahore High Court into Muktharan Mai gang rape case , acquited all accused except Abdul Khaliq who was awarded life term .

A three-member bench of the SC headed by Justice Shakirullah Jan rejected four appeals moved by Mukhtaran Mai in the apex court, against other accused and issued their release orders.

Mukhtaran Mai was allegedly gang raped in Meerwala village in Jatoi Tehsil of Muzaffar Garh district in Punjab back in 2002.
