The Lahore police have registered a case against a man accused of rape and blackmail on a complaint filed by a stage actress, sources said on Saturday.

According to the FIR registered at Sabzazar police station, actress Urooj said the suspect, identified as Nasir Khan, initially befriended her and began visiting her home after offering her a role in a stage drama.

She alleged that the suspect later took advantage of their relationship and took her to his home, where he allegedly gave her a drugged drink and sexually assaulted her while she was unconscious.

The actress further alleged that Nasir recorded a video of her in an undressed state following the alleged assault.

According to the complaint, the suspect has since allegedly been blackmailing her and threatening to make the video public.

Police said a case had been registered on the actress’s complaint and raids were being conducted at different locations to arrest the suspect at the earliest.
