Five killed as speeding car runs over pedestrians in Lahore

Five people were killed after a speeding car went out of control and hit pedestrians on a footpath near the Taj Bagh U-turn in Lahore’s Harbanspura area.

According to initial reports, three people travelling in the car and two pedestrians died in the accident.

The victims were identified as 15-year-old Muzammil, 18-year-old Nauman, 20-year-old Abdul Rehman, 17-year-old Furqan and 19-year-old Junaid.

The car reportedly struck the pedestrians before crashing into a tree.

Police, traffic police and Rescue 1122 teams reached the scene shortly after receiving information about the accident.

The bodies were shifted to General Hospital for legal procedures.

The Lahore Chief Traffic Officer took notice of the incident and sought a report from the SSP City Zone.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances that led to the accident.
