Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has married his longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez after nearly a decade together, his management said.

The couple tied the knot in a private civil ceremony in Cascais, Portugal, according to Ronaldo’s management.

Ronaldo, 41, and Rodriguez, 32, announced the marriage on Instagram by sharing a photograph of their wedding rings.

The post attracted more than 16 million likes within hours.

British broadcaster Piers Morgan also congratulated the couple on social media platform X, sharing a photograph of the newlyweds after they exchanged rings.

Ronaldo and Rodriguez have been in a relationship since 2016 and have two daughters together, Alana, seven, and Bella, three.

The five-time Ballon d’Or winner met Rodriguez in 2016 while she was working at a Gucci store in Madrid.

Rodriguez announced their engagement on Instagram a year ago, posting a photograph of the couple holding hands with the caption: “Yes I do. In this and in all my lives.”

Ronaldo is among football’s most decorated players, having won major trophies with Manchester United, Real Madrid, Juventus and his current club, Saudi Arabia’s Al Nassr.

The marriage comes as Ronaldo prepares to return to football, with Al Nassr set to begin its 2026-27 Saudi Pro League campaign in four days.

The world’s highest-paid footballer will work under new Al Nassr coach Ange Postecoglou this season, with attention focused on how Ronaldo will adapt to the Australian manager’s tactical demands.
