The newly constituted committee probing the death of Mir Raza Ali will hold its first meeting today (Monday) to review the progress in the case and meet the victim’s parents on Monday.

The committee will hold a meeting at noon to review developments in the case and examine the available evidence. DIG Aamir Farooqi set to chair the session

Later at 3pm, the committee will meet Mir Raza Ali’s parents at the office of the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Crime and Investigation.

Lawyer for the victim’s parents Jibran Nasir will also attend the meeting.

During the meeting, the committee will hear the parents’ grievances with regard to the case investigation, where they are expected to present their concerns and demands before the investigators.

Officials said the newly formed committee has been tasked with conducting the investigation into Mir Raza Ali’s death.

The new investigation team was formed on Sunday to probe the death of young Karachi businessman Mir Raza Ali.

According to an official notification, Inspector Chaudhry Ghazanfar has been made a member of the investigation team, along with Syed Muhammad Ali Raza, SP Qais Khan and SP Anum Tajammul.

The team has been tasked with conducting a comprehensive and impartial review of all aspects of the case.

Phone data obtained

Meanwhile, investigators probing Mir Raza Ali’s death have obtained details of his movements, final phone calls and messages from the night of July 28.

According to sources, Mir Raza spoke to two people in three phone calls that night.

He reportedly spoke to a person named Ali at 2.13am and again at 2.16am, while his final call was answered by his friend Abdullah.

The conversation between Mir Raza and Abdullah lasted for more than three minutes, the sources said.

Investigators have also obtained details of the last eight messages received on Mir Raza’s mobile phone as part of the ongoing probe.
