Pakistan defeated the West Indies by eight wickets in the second and final Test in Port of Spain on Wednesday, chasing down a modest target of 75 to level the two-match series 1-1.

Resuming their chase, Pakistan reached the target for the loss of two wickets after their bowlers had dismantled the West Indies batting lineup in the second innings.

Earlier, the hosts elected to bat first after winning the toss and posted 344 in their first innings. Justin Greaves top-scored with 73, while captain Roston Chase made 70. Brandon King contributed 46, Shai Hope scored 29 and Amir Jangoo added 26.

For Pakistan, Sajid Khan claimed four wickets, while Ali Usman, Ubaid Shah and Mohammad Ali picked up two wickets each.

Pakistan responded strongly with 387 in their first innings to secure a crucial 43-run lead. Abdullah Shafique starred with an unbeaten 160, while Babar Azam scored 88 and Azan Awais made 55.

Jomel Warrican was the pick of the West Indies bowlers with six wickets, while Shamar Joseph claimed two and Jayden Seales took one.

Trailing by 43 runs, the West Indies struggled against Pakistan’s spin attack in their second innings and were bowled out for 117.

Kevlon Hodge top-scored with 34, while Tagenarine Chanderpaul and captain Roston Chase made 17 runs each.

Sajid Khan and Ali Usman led Pakistan’s bowling effort with four wickets apiece, restricting the hosts to a small total and leaving Pakistan a target of just 75.

Pakistan completed the chase with two wickets to spare, securing an eight-wicket victory and drawing the series after losing the opening Test by 90 runs.
