The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to observe a two-day weekly closure of all public and private universities and colleges across the province following the continued increase in petroleum prices.
The decision was taken by the provincial cabinet, after which the Higher Education Department issued an official notification outlining the new schedule.
Under the notification, all public and private universities and colleges will remain closed on Fridays and Saturdays.
The department has also directed educational institutions to conduct online classes on the remaining working days to ensure academic activities continue without interruption.
According to the notification, the new arrangement will remain in effect for the next two months.
