Light to moderate monsoon rain swept across several parts of Karachi on Friday, bringing welcome relief from the heat and making the weather pleasant.

Showers were reported in M.A. Jinnah Road, Guru Mandir, Jamshed Road, North Karachi, Nagan Chowrangi, Gulshan-e-Memar, Ahsanabad and surrounding areas.

Some neighbourhoods received light rain, while others experienced moderate showers as the monsoon spell spread across the city.

The rainfall brought temperatures down, ending the recent spell of hot and humid weather.

The rain also made roads slippery in several areas, prompting motorists to drive with caution to avoid accidents.

No major incidents or reports of urban flooding were immediately reported.
