Pakistan has a strong legal and political position on every outstanding issue with India, Foreign Office Spokesperson Tahir Andrabi said on Thursday.

Briefing reporters at his weekly press conference, Andrabi said Pakistan is ready to engage with any country willing to help India and Pakistan resolve peace and security issues.

He said Pakistan does not have any skeleton to hide, unlike India, which he said shies away from international engagement because its positions on Jammu and Kashmir, trans-boundary water sharing and counter-terrorism cannot withstand examination under international law or the UN Charter.

On India’s violation of the Indus Waters Treaty, Andrabi said New Delhi’s approach reflects a mindset of aggression and resource misappropriation that must be rejected.

He said Pakistan is complying fully with the treaty and wants its sanctity upheld and implemented in earnest.

The spokesperson said Pakistan has intensified diplomatic engagement with key regional and international stakeholders to support the implementation of the Islamabad MOU between Iran and the United States.

Referring to talks concluded in Doha, he said Pakistan, alongside its Qatari partner, will continue playing a facilitative and mediatory role in the negotiation process.
