The Lahore Police have registered a criminal case in connection with the tragic roof collapse at a tuition centre in the Kahna area that killed 14 children and injured six others.

According to police, the case was registered on the complaint of an enforcement officer under sections relating to negligence and recklessness.

The first information report (FIR) names three brothers — Usman, Faizan and Rehan — as well as a mason identified as Umair.

According to the FIR, Rehan’s wife, Amila, had set up a tuition centre in a room of the family’s house.

The report alleges that the building’s dilapidated roof collapsed due to the additional load placed on it during repair work.

The incident left 14 children dead and six others injured, including Amila, police said.

Authorities said an investigation had been launched to examine all aspects of the incident and determine responsibility for the tragedy.
