The military said that four drones launched from across the border by the Afghan Taliban regime into Balochistan were successfully shot down by Pakistan’s air defence systems.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Pakistan’s air defence network has been fully activated following the incident.

The ISPR said that the hostile aerial platforms were immediately picked up by Pakistan’s robust air defence network.

Demonstrating high operational readiness, security forces successfully neutralised all four incoming drones using sophisticated countermeasures.

Due to the swift and effective response, the malicious attempts were effectively thwarted.

The ISPR said that such gimmicks of the Afghan Taliban regime were aimed at misleading the Afghan population suffering under their oppressive regime.

The Afghan Taliban should realise that their irresponsible behaviour is only adding to the hardships of the Afghan people.

Instead of trying to sedate their population through such antics and hollow rhetoric, they should eschew sponsorship of terrorism and adhere to the principle of peaceful coexistence, the statement added.

The ISPR cautioned the Afghan Taliban regime to stop providing patronage to terrorist elements, stressing that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully vigilant and resolutely committed to defending the country’s sovereignty.

The ISPR added that any misadventures or cross-border provocations threatening the sovereignty of Pakistan and endangering its people will continue to be met with swift, decisive, and overwhelming responses under Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq.
