US President Donald Trump has threatened Iran with further military action after American forces carried out strikes against Iranian missile and drone storage facilities as well as coastal radar positions.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Saturday, Trump said US aircraft had targeted Iranian military infrastructure in response to what he described as Tehran’s violation of a ceasefire agreement.
“United States aircraft just struck Iranian missile and drone storage locations, and coastal radar sites, for violating the Cease Fire Agreement, AGAIN!” Trump wrote.
“It is very possible that they will never learn!” he added.
The US president warned that Washington could eventually reach a point where it was “no longer able to be reasonable” and could be “forced to militarily complete the job that we very successfully started.”
“If that happens, the Islamic Republic of Iran will no longer exist!” Trump said.
Trump’s remarks came after the US Central Command (CENTCOM) announced that American forces had conducted additional strikes against multiple targets inside Iran on Saturday.
CENTCOM said that the strikes were launched following an alleged Iranian attack on a Panama-flagged oil tanker near the Strait of Hormuz.
