Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb will present the federal budget for fiscal year 2026-27 in the National Assembly on Friday, June 12, adviser to the finance minister Khurram Schehzad confirmed in a post on X on Wednesday.

The Economic Survey 2025-26 will be launched a day earlier, on June 11, at a ceremony at 2:20 p.m. at the P-Block of the Pakistan Secretariat in Islamabad.

The announcement marks a further revision to the budget schedule.

The government had initially planned to present the budget on June 10 before revising the date.

Budget sessions of both the National Assembly and the Senate have already been summoned by President Asif Ali Zardari.

Earlier on Wednesday, the National Economic Council met under Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to finalise federal and provincial development plans ahead of the budget.

PM Shehbaz said consultations with the provinces were conducted “with extreme seriousness, and we made decisions in the best interest of Pakistan.”
