Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah said the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had not been consulted on any proposed 28th Constitutional Amendment and no draft had been shared with the party.

Speaking to the media after offering Eid al-Azha prayers in Sehwan Sharif, the chief minister said discussions about a new constitutional amendment were only being heard through the media.

“We have neither seen any amendment nor has any draft been shared with us,” he said, adding that no proposal concerning provinces or cities had come before the PPP.

CM Shah said those circulating reports about the amendment should be asked about its details, stressing that no constitutional amendment could be passed without the consent of the PPP.

He also dismissed speculation regarding administrative changes in Sindh, saying the provincial government had no intention of creating new districts.

Commenting on economic issues, the chief minister acknowledged that inflation had increased and said decisions regarding salary increases in the upcoming budget would be made after consultations with the federal government.

He said the Sindh budget would be people-friendly and the government was trying to minimise the financial burden on low-income groups.

The chief minister said the irrigation department was working on the restoration of Manchar Lake, while he had also taken notice of the alleged use of substandard material in the Sehwan beautification plan.

CM Shah said he had directed the chief secretary to personally monitor development projects to ensure transparency and quality.

Expressing sorrow over recent terrorist incidents in Balochistan, the chief minister said the militants involved were not locals and accused India of supporting terrorism from across the border.
