Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in New York and discussed regional developments, including tensions in the Middle East and efforts to promote peace and stability.
According to the Foreign Office, the two leaders exchanged views on Pakistan’s diplomatic initiatives aimed at encouraging dialogue and diplomacy for lasting peace in the region.
They also discussed a range of international issues, including reforms in the United Nations Security Council, the Jammu and Kashmir dispute, Afghanistan and Palestine.
The Foreign Office said the meeting focused on strengthening multilateral cooperation and addressing evolving regional challenges through peaceful means.
Secretary-General Guterres appreciated Pakistan’s active engagement and cooperation in promoting international peace and security, as well as its contribution to the broader United Nations agenda.
