Eid-ul-Adha is being celebrated across Pakistan today with religious devotion, Eid prayers and animal sacrifices taking place in cities including Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Quetta.

Special prayers were also offered for the country’s security, stability and peace during Eid congregations held at mosques, Eidgahs, Imambargahs and open grounds.

Following the prayers, people across the country began sacrificing animals in line with the Sunnah of Hazrat Ibrahim (AS).

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif extended Eid-ul-Adha greetings to the nation and the Muslim Ummah.

In his message, President Zardari said Eid-ul-Adha teaches obedience, sacrifice, patience and sincerity, adding that true success lies in serving humanity rather than wealth or status.

He stressed the importance of including deserving and underprivileged people in Eid celebrations and called for promoting tolerance, dialogue, respect for law and environmental cleanliness in society.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Eid-ul-Adha highlights the spirit of sacrifice and obedience to Allah, describing Hazrat Ismail (AS) as a symbol of loyalty and faith.

He also paid tribute to those who sacrificed their lives in the fight against terrorism and expressed solidarity with the people of Palestine and occupied Kashmir.

The chiefs of the armed forces, including Chief of Army Staff Syed Asim Munir, also conveyed Eid greetings to the nation.

According to the ISPR, Naval Chief Naveed Ashraf and Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu also extended Eid wishes and paid tribute to the martyrs of Pakistan and their families, saying their sacrifices continue to strengthen the country.
