The Sindh government has reduced the Eid al-Azha public holidays from four days to three days, according to a revised notification issued on Sunday.

Under the new notification, public holidays for Eid al-Azha will be observed from May 26 to May 28, corresponding to 9 to 11 Zil-Hijjah 1447 AH.

The latest announcement revises an earlier notification issued on May 22, which had declared four public holidays from May 26 to May 29.

Eid al-Azha is expected to be celebrated in Pakistan on May 27. The official holidays include one day before Eid and the first two days of the festival.

Saudi Arabia and other Gulf countries are also expected to observe Eid-ul-Azha on May 27, while the main Hajj ritual will take place on May 26.

Muslim organisations in the United States, Canada, Britain and Europe have also announced May 27 for Eid celebrations. Countries including Malaysia, Indonesia, Turkiye, and Tunisia are expected to observe Eid on the same day, while India and Bangladesh are expected to celebrate Eid al-Azha on May 28.
