The Iranian Ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Moghadam, expressed his gratitude to the Pakistani government for its role in securing the release and return of 20 Iranian sailors stranded in Singapore.

Posting on his X platform on Thursday, Amiri Moghadam praised Pakistan’s humanitarian and diplomatic efforts, saying the sailors had been in a “difficult situation” after their ship was seized in Singaporean waters.

The ambassador specifically acknowledged the contributions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and other relevant Pakistani institutions.

“Following these diplomatic efforts, the sailors were transferred from Singapore to Islamabad and returned to our homeland a few hours ago,” Amiri Moghadam said, highlighting the successful conclusion of the repatriation operation.
