Norwegian journalist Helle Lyng, who recently made headlines for heckling Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a joint press conference in Norway, has said that her Meta-owned social media accounts have been suspended.

Lyng, a reporter with Oslo-based newspaper Dagsavisen, posted on X (formerly Twitter) that both her Facebook and Instagram accounts had been deactivated without prior notice.

Sharing screenshots of the suspension, she wrote that she could no longer access her profiles on the platforms.

“If you are trying to reach me on Instagram or Facebook, I am letting you know that both of my accounts have been suspended,” Lyng said in her post.

“It is a small price to pay for press freedom, but I’ve never experienced something like this before.”
