Eid-ul-Azha is likely to be observed in Pakistan on May 27, 2026, according to astronomical projections shared by the Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission (SUPARCO).
A SUPARCO spokesperson said the new moon of Dhul-Hijjah 1447 AH is expected to be born on May 17 at 1:15pm.
The age of the moon at sunset on the same day is estimated to be around eight hours and 30 minutes.
The spokesperson added that in coastal areas of Pakistan, there will be an expected gap of about 60 minutes between sunset and moonset, which could support visibility if weather conditions are clear.
SUPARCO further noted that the first day of Dhul-Hijjah is likely to fall on Monday, May 18, while Eid-ul-Adha is expected on May 27.
However, the final confirmation will depend on official moon sighting committees, as Islamic calendar dates are subject to visual observation of the lunar crescent.
