Sindh Public Service Commission has defended the results of the Combined Competitive Examination (CCE) 2024 after protests and criticism from unsuccessful candidates over the low pass percentage in the written examination.
In a press release, the commission said the assessment of answer scripts and evaluation of candidates’ overall performance was the sole responsibility of independent examiners, adding that the commission had no role in influencing the marking process.
The statement came days after the commission announced the written examination results, in which only 70 candidates were declared successful out of thousands who appeared in the competitive exam conducted in December 2025.
According to the commission, candidates who failed the written examination were “perturbed” due to the “dismal” results and the small number of successful candidates. However, it stressed that the examiners exercised independent judgment while checking answer copies.
The commission also expressed concern over ongoing protests by some candidates and alleged that “unscrupulous elements” were encouraging them to take the law into their own hands. It warned that any unlawful activity would be dealt with strictly in accordance with the law.
SPSC advised aggrieved candidates to seek legal remedies through official channels. It said candidates with genuine complaints could file applications under Regulation 161 of the Recruitment Management Regulations-2023, after which the matter would be reviewed on merit and according to the law.
The commission further said competitive examinations were now being conducted annually in compliance with the orders of the Supreme Court of Pakistan. It encouraged unsuccessful candidates to appear in future examinations with better preparation and determination.
Reaffirming its commitment to transparency, merit and integrity, the commission urged the public and candidates not to be misled by rumours or misinformation regarding the examination process.
The commission also invited successful candidates to submit the required documents for scrutiny and verification before the interview stage. It said the schedule for viva voce examinations would be announced after the verification process is completed.
Earlier, the commission had announced that all constitutional requirements, including male, female, urban and rural quotas in Sindh, were observed while finalising the CCE-2024 results.
