Light diesel price up, kerosene gets relief in latest revision

The government has increased the price of light diesel oil while reducing kerosene rates, following the latest revision in petroleum products.

According to a notification issued by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) on Friday, the new prices have come into effect immediately.

Light diesel oil has been increased by Rs17.03 per litre, taking its new price to Rs287.54 per litre.

In contrast, kerosene oil has been reduced by Rs4.45 per litre, bringing the new rate down to Rs360.76 per litre from the previous Rs365.21.

The adjustment comes a day after the government raised petrol and high-speed diesel prices.

As per the earlier notification issued by the Petroleum Division, petrol price was increased by Rs6.51 per litre to Rs399.86, while high-speed diesel rose by Rs19.39 to Rs399.58 per litre.

The revised prices took effect from midnight on May 1.
