The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has removed registrar office objections to a petition filed by Mubashira, seeking permission to meet her mother, Bushra Bibi.
Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir directed that the case be formally registered and scheduled for hearing on Monday.
During preliminary proceedings, the judge noted that under established practice, petitioners must first approach relevant authorities before moving the court.
He asked whether jail officials had been contacted regarding the matter and advised immediate engagement if not.
Counsel Salman Akram Raja told the court that meetings with Bushra Bibi had been inconsistent, with permissions granted and withdrawn intermittently. He added that even family visits were currently suspended.
The lawyer argued that the petitioner, as Bushra Bibi’s daughter, should not be denied meeting rights, particularly given her mother’s reported ill health and recent surgery, describing the situation as urgent.
Justice Tahir observed that as it was the last working day of the week, the matter would be taken up on the next working day after formal registration.
