The government has granted permission for spectators to attend all three playoff matches of the HBL-Pakistan Super League (PSL) Season 11, following a security review at the highest level.
The decision was approved by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif after a meeting with Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi on Monday.
Announcing the development on social media, Naqvi said the premier had given the green light for fans to attend all playoff fixtures, calling it “good news” for cricket supporters across the country.
He added that the approval comes with an austerity condition, urging spectators to use public transport or minimise fuel consumption while travelling to stadiums.
During the meeting at the Prime Minister’s House, officials reviewed the overall security situation, including arrangements for the PSL final.
The premier also commended Naqvi for security management during the recent Islamabad Dialogue.
Authorities said enhanced security measures will remain in place to ensure the safety of players, officials and fans.
The decision follows sustained public demand on social media for allowing spectators at the remaining matches.
