Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has detained nearly 240 individuals in coordinated security operations across two western provinces, according to Iran’s semi-official Mehr news agency.
In Kurdistan province, IRGC forces reported arresting 11 people and killing one alleged member of a Kurdish armed group during the raids.
Authorities also said they recovered a stockpile of weapons and ammunition, while additional separate operations led to the detention of about 70 more suspects.
In neighbouring Kermanshah province, officials said 155 people were arrested on suspicion of belonging to what they described as “counter-revolutionary groups.”
Among those detained, four were accused of spying for Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency.
Separately in Tehran, police announced the arrest of an individual accused of gathering and transmitting information about missile strike locations to what they called hostile networks.
