Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has welcomed the announcement of a ceasefire in Lebanon, describing it as a result of diplomatic efforts and a positive development for regional peace.

In a statement on X, the prime minister said the ceasefire represented a success of diplomacy and could serve as a foundation for lasting peace in the region.

He also praised US President Donald Trump’s diplomatic efforts in securing the ceasefire, calling them commendable.

Shehbaz Sharif said Pakistan supports Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and reiterated Islamabad’s commitment to regional stability.

He added that Pakistan would continue to extend all possible cooperation for lasting peace in the region.
