Iranian Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Esmail Baqai said on Wednesday that exchange of messages after the ceasefire and the Islamabad talks is continuing, diplomatic contacts are also maintained through Pakistani mediation, and further talks are expected to achieve a complete ceasefire.
He told a press briefing that contacts have been ongoing since last Sunday, and many messages have been exchanged through Pakistan.
According to him, Iran is receiving continuous messages through Pakistani mediators, and Iran’s position on the matter is clear.
Esmail Baqai said that during this exchange of messages, there is a strong possibility that a Pakistani delegation will visit Iran to advance the negotiation process. He clarified that the upcoming negotiations will be aimed at achieving a complete ceasefire.
Iran has not backed down from supporting the Lebanese resistance and will not accept any interference in the region. He added that Iran is the guardian and custodian of the Strait of Hormuz and will not compromise on its regional role.
Baqai also said that Iran has always maintained that negotiations on the issue of nuclear enrichment can take place, but there will be no compromise on Iran’s rights based on international law.
He clarified that Iran has said that unilateral conditions cannot be called negotiations. The Islamic Republic of Iran will not accept any such pressure or order.
He rejected reports that Iran is capable of producing an atomic bomb in a few days and said that such claims are baseless and misleading. Iran wants to resolve issues through diplomatic channels, and the process of dialogue will continue for peace and stability in the region.
