Finance Minister Aurangzeb leaves for US for IMF, World Bank meetings

Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb has departed for the United States to attend the upcoming meetings of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, the Ministry of Finance said on Saturday.

According to the ministry, the meetings will be held in Washington, DC, from April 13 to 18.

Ahead of the meetings, Aurangzeb will visit Boston, where he is scheduled to participate in the Pakistan Conference at Harvard University.

During the conference, the finance minister will engage with experts, policymakers and members of the Pakistani community, and share his views on Pakistan’s economy, ongoing reform measures and growth prospects.

During his visit, Aurangzeb will represent Pakistan at key IMF and World Bank sessions and is expected to hold meetings with global financial leaders, development partners and policymakers.

He will also meet senior leadership of international financial institutions on the sidelines of the meetings.
