Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s “unwavering and unflinching solidarity” with Saudi Arabia during a telephone call with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, following attacks on the Kingdom’s energy facilities.

According to an official statement, the two leaders discussed the evolving regional situation, including ongoing hostilities.

PM Shehbaz strongly condemned the attack on the Al Jubail oil facility earlier in the day and assured the Crown Prince that Pakistan and its people would stand “shoulder to shoulder” with Saudi Arabia.

He said the Kingdom had always supported Pakistan “through thick and thin,” and Islamabad would reciprocate in this difficult time.

The prime minister also briefed the Crown Prince on Pakistan’s ongoing diplomatic efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East.

He praised the Saudi leadership for exercising restraint despite provocations, saying it had created space for mediation and peaceful resolution.

PM Shehbaz reiterated that Pakistan is working closely with partners to advance peace efforts and reduce tensions in the region.

He also conveyed his warm wishes and respects to King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques.
