Pakistan’s top military leadership has strongly condemned recent attacks on Saudi Arabia’s petrochemical and industrial facilities, warning they risk undermining ongoing diplomatic efforts to resolve the Middle East conflict.
The remarks came during the 274th Corps Commanders’ Conference, chaired by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters in Rawalpindi, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The forum described the strikes as “unnecessary escalation” and said such actions were harming sincere efforts to resolve the crisis through peaceful means.
It noted that Saudi Arabia’s restraint despite “grave provocations” had created space for mediation and diplomacy, but warned that continued aggression could derail those efforts and damage the conducive environment for dialogue.
The conference reviewed the prevailing internal and external security situation and reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to restraint, dialogue, and de-escalation.
It stressed that Pakistan remains a “responsible regional stakeholder” contributing to peace and stability.
Participants also offered prayers for personnel of the armed forces, law enforcement agencies, and civilians who lost their lives in defence of the country, reaffirming that their sacrifices remain the foundation of national security.
Field Marshal Munir commended the armed forces for their professionalism, operational readiness, and sustained intelligence-based counter-terrorism operations.
The forum reiterated its resolve to eliminate all terrorist proxies allegedly backed by India and other external actors, along with their facilitators, without exception.
It decided to maintain the momentum of Operation Ghazab-lil-Haq until militant safe havens are dismantled and the use of Afghan territory against Pakistan is decisively ended.
The conference also rejected what it called persistent disinformation, baseless allegations, and “false flag” narratives attributed to India, saying such tactics had been exposed internationally.
Concern was expressed over human rights violations in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, including extrajudicial killings and alleged fake encounters.
In concluding remarks, the army chief directed commanders to maintain the highest standards of operational readiness, discipline, training, and innovation, expressing full confidence in the military’s ability to counter all threats and safeguard Pakistan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.
