At least four people, including three police personnel, were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated near their van in Lakki Marwat district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday.
The injured included an assistant sub-inspector.
According to police, the explosion occurred while the vehicle was on a routine patrol in the Shahbazkhel Police Station area.
Initial investigations revealed that the explosive device had been planted on a motorcycle.
Those injured included ASI Jamaluddin, Constable Arif, and driver Mir Hassan.
A civilian pedestrian was also wounded in the blast.
All injured were immediately taken to a nearby hospital, where they are receiving medical treatment.
A police spokesperson confirmed that security has been beefed up in the area and that further investigations are underway.
