Milk prices in Karachi have been increased by Rs20 per litre, with the new retail rate set at Rs240, according to a notification issued by the Karachi commissioner.
Under the revised pricing structure, dairy farmers will sell milk at Rs215 per litre, wholesalers at Rs225, and retailers at Rs240 per litre.
Officials said the increase was approved in view of rising production costs faced by dairy farmers, aiming to ensure a stable supply and protect their income.
The new rates have come into immediate effect, and milk is now being sold across the city at the updated prices.
The decision follows repeated demands by the Dairy Farmers Association, which had earlier sought a higher increase and proposed a retail price of Rs320 per litre.
