The Lahore Sessions Court on Tuesday fined singer Meesha Shafi five million rupees in a defamation case filed by fellow singer Ali Zafar.

Additional Sessions Judge Asif Hayat delivered the verdict in the case, which Ali Zafar had filed in 2018. The case saw a total of nine judges transferred and 284 appearances over its course.

Meesha Shafi was ordered to pay the fine as part of the court’s decision.
