The United States carried out an air strike on what it described as a large ammunition depot in the Iranian city of Isfahan, reportedly using multiple 2,000-pound bunker buster bombs.

Quoting a US official, the Wall Street Journal said a significant number of “penetrator munitions” were deployed in the strike, which targeted the depot’s reinforced underground storage facilities.

The report follows a social media post by US President Donald Trump, who shared an uncaptioned video showing massive explosions in Isfahan.

Several other Iranian cities were also targeted in this wave of attacks.

In Tehran, there have been attacks throughout the first half of the night, and several explosions were heard.

Earlier, the vicinity of the Mehrabad airport was hit again with several strikes.
