A man allegedly set his wife and three young daughters on fire in Lahore’s Shahdara area, police said on Thursday.

The suspect, identified as Bilal, has been arrested. Authorities confirmed that the woman and her daughters sustained serious burns to their faces and hands.

The injured children have been identified as seven-year-old Hania, three-year-old Iqra, and three-month-old Noor.

Rescue teams responded promptly and shifted all victims to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Police said an investigation is underway to determine the motive behind the incident. Legal proceedings against the suspect have also been initiated.
