Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan have been in contact and discussed the situation in the Middle East, a Pakistani official said on Thursday.

The diplomatic engagement comes as contacts continue aimed at ending the war against Iran, the official added.

Dar stressed the need to reduce tensions in the region and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to peace and regional stability.

Both leaders discussed the latest regional developments and agreed to remain in close contact.
