More than a thousand miles from the war in Iran, Muslim residents in Indian-administered Kashmir are donating gold, cash, utensils, and livestock to support those affected by the conflict.

Community elders and leaders have set up collection stalls, while young volunteers go door-to-door gathering contributions.

Women are offering gold jewellery, households are donating traditional copperware and livestock, and children are contributing savings from their piggy banks.

Some wealthier donors are sending cash directly to the Iranian Embassy’s relief account in New Delhi.

Donations surged during Eid al-Fitr, with many turning the holiday into a moment of humanitarian action.

Social media posts show residents framing their aid as both a religious and moral duty, and the Iranian Embassy expressed gratitude for the solidarity.
