Pakistan opener Sahibzada Farhan has been named the ICC Men’s Player of the Month for February 2026 following his exceptional performance in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 in Sri Lanka.
Farhan, the highest run-scorer of the tournament, amassed 383 runs in seven matches (six innings), averaging an impressive 76.60.
His tally included two centuries and two half-centuries, showcasing his dominance at the global event.
The hard-hitting right-hander also posted a strike rate of 160.25, shattering Virat Kohli’s longstanding record for the most runs in a single T20 World Cup edition.
“I’m incredibly proud to win this ICC award, especially for performances on the World Cup stage, where the eyes of the world are upon you,” said Farhan.
“It was a tournament I’ll always cherish, and I’m determined to carry this momentum into future series and competitions.”
Farhan’s remarkable achievements included becoming the first player to score two centuries in a single T20 World Cup (against Namibia and Sri Lanka).
He also reached a career-high rating in the ICC Men’s T20I Batting Rankings, climbing to second position after his outstanding century against Sri Lanka in Pallekele.
The 29-year-old opener was also a key player in a record-breaking partnership with Fakhar Zaman, where the pair put together 176 runs— the highest ever partnership for any wicket in T20 internationals.
Despite Pakistan’s thrilling five-run victory over the co-hosts Sri Lanka, the team could not qualify for the semi-finals due to a lower net run rate.
Farhan’s consistent brilliance throughout the tournament earned him a spot in the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Team of the Tournament.
He scored 47, 73, 0, 100*, DNB, 63, and 100 across seven matches, cementing his place among the world’s best.
This victory marks Farhan’s first ICC Player of the Month award, making him the first Pakistani male cricketer to win the honour since pacer Haris Rauf in November 2024.
