Death toll from Ethiopia landslides rises to 125, regional government says

The death toll from landslides in ​Ethiopia last week has risen ‌to 125, the South Ethiopia regional government said.

  • Heavy rains ​triggered a series ​of landslides in different parts ⁠of the Gamo Zone.
  • As ​of last Thursday, authorities had confirmed ​70 deaths.
  • On Sunday, the South Ethiopia regional government gave a ​higher death toll of ​125.
